Liverpool’s gamble: The Suarez & Carroll Hit Force
Where to start? Wow. That of a Transfer window, records busted everywhere! Sort of. I guess none of you expected most of them!
There have been a few transfers in this last month that have surprised me personally, but also some that are really pleasing to see. Although it’azines good to see some potentially world class players coming into the Premier League such as Luiz as well as Dzeko. There was 2 transfers which i was rather sceptical about, it’azines not Darren Bent’s hefty price tag, proven goalscorer and worth the complete £24mil IMO. No, it’s that of Luis Suarez and guess who? Yep, Andrew Carroll. This is a huge gamble with regard to Liverpool, paying 20 peculiar and 30 odd zillion for someone that scored a lot of goals in Holland‘s Eredivisie, with an inexperienced youngster.
I’ve noticed a lot of people talking about his (Suarez) impressive stats, having a VERY impressive goals/games rate, almost as impressive as Afonso Alves’ (whom?) stats in the Eredivisie (34 targets in 31 league video games). Yeah, exactly. You could reason that he, Suarez, had a relatively impressive world cup, and yes I’d agree it was very good, apart from his disgusting cheating “save”. The difference is, he was playing alongside Diego Forlan, one of several finest strikers in the game. At Gatwick, he will be alongside Andy Carroll, who’s in my eyes is too new at the top level for a £35million asking price. I do understand that Carroll has large potential, and has the traits of a complete centre forwards, which in a season as well as two he may turn out to be, however he might not. A HUGE gamble, selling a world cup earning, and undoubtedly a true world class striker in Torres, for these two.
However, this could turn out to be a very, very potent strike force (not nearly Drogba and Torres, though). If Andrew Carroll does fill out his potential, and Suarez can bring over the type that he showed in Netherlands, they could well turn out to be the very best moves the club have ever made! I for one, am very interested to see the way the rest of this season will occur. Although, as a Hull City fan, not that excited! Though we have signed Fryatt and McLean…
At any rate, was it worth it? I think it was. After all, anyone can drone in about Torres being amazing, however they are sitting somewhere in the depths of the league where they don’t really belong. I believe Dalglish is a very brave man, We couldn’t think of many professionals that would have taken that chance. Then again, that is what it takes to generate a great leader, to make fantastic decisions and take the battering when they fail, and the praise when they succeed. This could be the shot of life they need, as wll as is a very exciting time for the fans. Liverpool have gamble big, but I expect the crooks to win big (next time of year) too.
